Ohio State Highway Patrol reported today:

From 2004 to 2006 - total of 105 fatal and 14,811 injury crashes on snowy and icy Ohio roads. In 74% of accidents speeding was main factor.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are targeting certain highways in Central Ohio in efforts to crack down on careless drivers.
'People get impatient. They take unnecessary risks,' Trooper Steve Schemine contends.
On U.S. Route 23 in Delaware County, the Highway Patrol�s ultimate goal is to save lives on the road. Troopers used to think the best way to do that was by writing lots of speeding tickets.

City Council Votes To Give Money Back

AKRON, Ohio -- Speeders in Akron will be getting some money back.
After getting hundreds of complaints, the Akron City Council voted Monday night to refund thousands of tickets issued from cameras set up in school zones, NewsChannel5 reported.
In just 19 days, the cameras caught more than 2,000 people speeding, issuing tickets up to $250 each.
